This spring we've painted on a larger canvas - a (nearly) full figure oil painting over the course of 4 weeks. Starting with preparing the background with graded colour in acrylics, we then used a grid (see here for an explanation) to get our image onto paper. This was transferred to the canvas and the figure was painted in oils. Finally, the whole canvas was glazed to tidy any smudges and give a consistent appearance to the work.
The majority of people managed to finish their portraits, some have a few further details to work on at home, but all in all a fantastic set of pictures. Well done to you all. There does appear to be a bit of glare from the camera in the taking of the photos - this is one of the problems with the sheen on oils paints but hopefully you can get an idea of how well these have turned out.
